You know it does. If you are this unhappy, then get away from her. Happiness is worth more money, and that seems to be your driving force. Don’t make her to completely the bad guy when you are on here trying to figure out how to hook up with someone. You are still legally married.
You refer to this person as a lover not gf/bf so it appears that the love is what was most important to you in the relationship and because of this I think it would be fine to just have a private conversation and tell the person you are interested in seeing other people. I hope this other person is not under the impression that the two of you were developing a relationship but if they are it’s better they find out now that this is not the case.
